Married a southern female lead to I needed experimented with chicken and pie. None of these factors worked out. This is excellent though. Takes a extended timw, include two min to cooking time except if maybe you have a bigger fryer than I do. Added chili, mustard powder to the dry mis. Warchestershire to the liquid. Advocate.
I’ve observed a lot of negative evaluations regarding this recipe. Initial, will not give up on it. Tweak it the way you like it. a lot more garlic, well, throw more in. As for fried chicken getting beneath cooked
please remember to NOT over load the chicken in the Hot oil. Overloading tends to great the excess fat down also considerably and never use cold chicken fresh from the fridge. Let it amazing down a bit, also, steaming can help. Also, Preserve a steady temperature which is critical. Use a thermometer and do not touch bone. I use my electric wok. KFC Often steamed their chicken AND they also additional tomato powder to their seasoned dusting flour
or so I was advised. To me, buttermilk is great for fried chicken. Devote the additional money for pasture raised chicken. a lot a lot more tasty. I Never use garlic salt or onion salt. I do include garlic and onion powders and salt separately among other seasonings. If you want more concentrated seasoning flavor and you happen to be not sure how a lot is just correct include it to your flour and dip a finger in the flour after it has been mixed together for a taste
it won’t harm you. This is an excellent recipe. Please will not give up on it simply because yours didn’t come out like KFC’s
I extra a tablespoon of sesame oil to the coat and it came out fantastic. It also learn me an A* in catering so that proves it really is awesomeness.
The breading was great but even with the temp probe displaying the correct temp, the chicken nonetheless was not cooked by means of. Any tips?
Experimented with this and it was nowhere near the KFC recipe. The texture was horrible. The flavor came nowhere close to KFC. What a waste of ingredients I utilised. Never use this recipe again.
Following 35 many years, I have ultimately located the perfect fried chicken employing boneless, skinless chicken breasts! I was concerned about the quantity of extra spices, but then I saw the recipe was for eight lbs. of chicken. I reduce it by 3/4ths for two lbs. of chicken, and my spice adverse husband was thrilled with the end result. I did allow the coated breasts “rest” for 15 minutes, and then placed the cooked chicken back on the cookie rack until dinner was served. Even the skinless breast pieces have been crispy and crunchy. We the two walked away from dinner thrilled with the final results. Phew! Last but not least.
This recipe worked excellent! Only thing I did was add more seasonings, I added one tablespoon onion powder, 1/four teaspoon ground cumin, 1/4 teaspoon of chili powder, and one tablespoon Weber roasted garlic and herb. This came out wonderful! I extremely suggest letting the chicken right after breading sit for 3 minutes for frying, we did that and no breading came off at all. We copied this into a notebook and we will definitely us once more.
Shocked to see some of these adverse testimonials. I have attempted numerous recipies to make fried chicken and it would come out mediocre at best, this is by far the greatest recipe for fc I have evr used. The chicken came out ideal with a flavorful crispy skin. Thank you for this.
My son and I produced this recipe for supper final night and we had been so satisfied with the final results! I’m in my early 50s and this chicken tastes how KFC chicken employed to taste. It is not as salty as some of the recipes that we have tried and we truly liked the subtle flavors of the herbs (in the poultry seasoning). We drained the pieces on paper towels and had no problems with any sogginess. Absolutely a winner!
This came out horrible- flavorless and undercooked! I substituted Trader Joe’s onion salt blend for garlic salt, and adobo seasoning for chicken seasoning, but neither should have resulted in the extremely bland crust this recipe made. Glad I did not invest considerably on the chicken drumsticks, we literally ended up throwing it in the trash and acquiring KFC for dinner as an alternative 🙁
